The Heritage Flag Goes Pink

Posted by The Heritage Flag on

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Heritage Flag has created a new flag to help raise awareness about this disease and raise funds for Breast Cancer research.

Breast cancer is a disease that has and continues to affect the lives of many women and their loved ones in the U.S and around the world.

About 1 in 8 women born in US will develop invasive breast cancer during their lifetime. It is also estimated, in 2015, 231,840, new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed, along with 60,290 new cases of non-invasive (in situ) breast cancer. These numbers make breast cancer the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women in the United States besides skin cancer.

National Breast Cancer Awareness month was founded in part by the American Cancer Society to raise awareness of the disease and to also promote screening for earlier detection. Almost 20 years later, Breast Cancer Awareness Month has transcended into a movement across many organizations, businesses, and individuals to help fight this deadly disease.

The new Pink Star Heritage Flag is a tribute to the women that have fought this battle and to help prevent more women from having to fight this disease in the future. We will be donating a portion of all proceeds from the Pink Star flag to The American Cancer Society to help fund breast cancer research. Join us in the cause at theheritageflag.com.
