Every Heritage Flag Has a Story
To invest in a Heritage Flag is investing in something truly original. Being The Original Wooden Flag Company and creating the first Barrel Wood American Flag is not something we take lightly.

2014 — Where It Began
A Dream Sketched on a Shopping List
The Heritage Flag Company created the first ever Barrel Wood American Flag as a gift—a dream to say thank you to three veterans starting a brewery in Southern Pines, North Carolina.
Custom home builder and cabinet maker Heath Trigg was building a unique bar for the local brewery. Inspired by the whiskey and wine barrels in which the brew masters aged beer, he built a stunning bar wrapped in barrel staves.
But his project wasn't complete.
I woke up at 3am dreaming about an American Flag. I sketched it out on a shopping list and when I came down to the shop the next morning, we made it.

The Turning Point
Arlington Changed Everything
Heath's time at Arlington National Cemetery opened his eyes to a whole world of sacrifice he hadn't considered. He came home and told his team: "I'm chasing the flag. If you need to do something else to support your family, now is the time to start looking."
He didn't lose a single guy.
Many people ask why the flag stuck. Of all the things he could have crafted, why choose the American flag? The reality is—the flag chose him.
To each person the flag means something a little different. From sacrifice and loss, to opportunity and strength. It represents a bond that unites us all as Americans.

The Craft
Every Flag Is a One‑of‑a‑Kind Work of Art
Every single craftsman on the Heritage team is an artist. What's remarkable about every one of these flags is that it's not possible for any two to be the same. The texture, the heritage, and the history behind the barrels each flag is made of is truly special.
That's something you can't just make up.
We are on a journey to the top of Mt. Everest, and we are just putting our shoes on. The sky is the limit.

The Impact
Making a Living, Giving Back
Our company is about making every single one of those flags mean something. We run a for-profit business, but in doing so are able to raise money for non-profits. It's the best of both worlds.
Heritage Flags have helped raise over a million dollars for non-profits all over the country. It's common for a Heritage Flag to auction for $10,000–$40,000.
Now, there are Heritage Flags in every US state and 28 countries. And we have not even gotten started yet.
Often Imitated, Never Duplicated
The texture, the heritage, and the history behind the barrels each flag is made of is truly special. That's something you can't just make up. It is absolutely unbelievable what has happened from this dream.
