Our Story
It all started
as a gift.
In 2014, we made one flag as a thank-you to three veterans. More than 250,000 flags later, every one is still made by hand from reclaimed barrels in Southern Pines, NC.
Others may make barrel flags now. But this is where it started.
Craftsmanship
Real barrels. Real craftsmanship.
Real American heritage.
Scratches. Char. Saw marks. Years of aging. We don't hide the imperfections in our barrels. We celebrate them.
Built by hand
Cut, fitted and assembled in Southern Pines, NC. No two are alike.
Reclaimed barrels
Light stripes from the barrel's outer wood. Dark stripes from the charred interior where the whiskey aged.
The original design
The first whiskey barrel American flag ever made, and the patented design that started our company.
Gifting
Some things deserve more
than an ordinary gift.
A retirement. A promotion. A lifetime of service. A father who taught you everything. Give them something worthy of the story.
Retirement
Honor the career. Honor the sacrifice. Honor the story.
Service
Honor deserves more than ordinary.
For Dad
Some gifts are opened. Others are remembered.
Recognition
Recognition should feel like recognition.

One flag.
Thousands of stories.
“It now hangs as a centerpiece above his fireplace mantle.”
“My family bought it for my military retirement gift. I absolutely love this.”
“The flag was given as a gift and it left my father in law in tears.”
Amazing craftsmanship. I have a small room in my house where I keep my bourbon, and it sets the mood perfectly to chill and relax. My flag looks amazing, and I couldn't be happier. Well worth it, and thanks again to the team that made mine!
Great looking flag
Great quality product. Excellent customer service.
I recently purchased a Blue Line Cask flag as a retirement gift for my brother-in-law retiring who will be retiring from a Maryland police department in the near future. The website was having an issue, so I called Heritage Flag and they quickly helped me place the order on a Monday and the flag arrived in 3 days! It is a beautiful flag and will be a great retirement gift. The quality of the Blue Line Cask is impeccable just like the previous 2 other flags I have purchased. Thanks for creating such a special and memorable gift!
Thanks Heritage for the fantastic partnership! Beefeaters loves Heritage Flag!!
This item exceeded my expectations and looks wonderful! Thanks for the craftsmanship and love put into each piece!
Both flags turned out incredible. They make the best gifts. Thank you for always doing an amazing job!!
I have ordered several cask series flags (8) over the years. This one was a special request for a Gold Line for the dispatcher who was my life line on my last radio call and gave me my final radio call the day I was medically retired. Heath and staff went above and beyond to accommodate my special request. This is the only place you will see me purchase my wooden American Flags from.
I was looking at these flags for years. I finally bought one and it is awesome. The craftsmanship is top notch. The history on how they're made is another reason I bought. I want a bigger one now since I'm retired law enforcement with my years of service put on it.
Our org purchases these flags as gifts for our program participants when they graduate. Each flag is always of the utmost quality and made with care. Definitely recommend!
Ordered this to pay my respect to a fallen Vietnam Ranger lost on his 28th day in Country ! The family was deeply moved with this personalized Ranger Cask flag !
This flag is TOP SHELF and will be proudly displayed in my 2d Amendment, Bourbon, and Pool Room along with many other Heritage Flags of different sizes and designs. Heath & staff simply continue to amaze me with their creative work.
I think I have purchased over a 1/2 dozen full barrel flags for clients who have retired from a life of service. They are always the talk of the retirement party!!! Everyone loves them! Truly the best quality on the market. Great Job!
Ordered this flag as retirement gift for a friend. The flag is beautifully made, and arrived quickly. Friend will be ecstatic to receive this beautiful gift to commemorate his 20 years in the military! Looking to order the operator series for my husbands retirement gift.
I ordered Classic & Old Glory flags with embossed full color and subdued 'Special Forces' Tabs and Shoulder Sleeve Insignia (SSI). The colors were a challenge to match; however, Heath and Clairissa's determination produced incredible one-off flags that I'm extremely proud of and will be displayed with numerous other Heritage Flags. De Oppresso Liber.
This small POW/MIA flag will be a great gift for my patriotic friend.
Friendly staff in the store location.
This company cares, great detail and excited to give these away as gifts.
Heritage Flag Company turned around a going away gift for a medically separating member in roughly 48hrs. They reached out to me about a custom name plate and even bent their usual service timeline to help ensure this military member was honored properly at their going away.
The desktop size flag is a wonderful gift, and the brass plaque on the reverse side adds a special touch. I like that it is easy to display on the stand that you provide and does not require special installation - a beautiful and thoughtful gift.
The craftmanship and detail in the flag is awesome! I am extremely proud to have this in my home for all to see and everyone loves it!
I purchased this for my Army Vet nephew. He loved it. He said it moved him, the product, the quality, and the story of your company. So pleased!
This thing is beautiful. I've bought a few a gifts and finally bought one for myself. Great materials, great craftsmanship, and this is veteran owned. Thanks for continuing the vision. Thanks for your service. Thanks for developing products specific to us military.
If you are looking for something that is totally unique in look and feel, this is a special gift. The craftsmanship is excellent and everyone that sees the flags are in awe.
Great product. My go to gift for promotions and retirements. Still need to get the PHS crest on one! Thanks
I have now bought several flags as either gifts or Retirement presents. This by far is the Best Craftsmanship I’ve seen. Great job

This is the second one we have purchased as a gift for someone else! Nothing but perfect!
I have bought many different flags from Heritage Flag Company and they are always made with heart and the highest quality craftsmanship .
I’ve purchased multiple products over the years and they never disappoint!
I ordered this hand made piece to auction at a military event - it was the hit of the night! This is such a unique presentation of Old Glory - you will love it!
We have wanted this flag for years, but never had the right space in our home. Well now we do. Thank you so very much for making such a beautiful flag.
What can I say it's beautiful, well crafted and will be proudly displayed in our living room
This hand carved flag is jaw dropping with how detailed and beautiful it is. It’s pretty big and heavy too but you can tell it’s very durable and made to last. Ordered one after years of having it saved in my bookmarks. It is the showpiece In my living room now. The family saw it and loved it! I would highly recommend anyone who is interested to buy!
I switched my order after placement from a half to full barrel. Customer service was prompt and helpful and personalized. Shipment was fast even during holiday times. I would highly recommend and will most likely purchase another. Beautiful!!

How does it hang?
It arrives ready to hang, with D-rings installed and a black felt back. Add the Small Batch Stand (sold separately) to display it on a table.
