The red stripes come from the natural stain of red wine aged in oak barrels, the light stripes from the outer wood of a bourbon barrel, a subtle blue hue defines the star union, with its 13 stars set in a ring — no paint, just a stain that highlights the wood's character. This Betsy Ross design pays tribute to the very first American flag with the stars in a circle to honor the 13 original colonies and the unity and pride of the new republic.
